Publication Ethics Statement
Publication Ethics Statement
Language and Diaspora Transmission (LDT)
Language and Diaspora Transmission (LDT) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics, following the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. This policy strictly governs the conduct of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to ensure the integrity of the scholarly record.
Duties of Authors
- Reporting Standards: Authors must present accurate, original, and objective research. Fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation of data is strictly prohibited.
- Originality & Plagiarism: Strictly no plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate publication. Authors must ensure their work is entirely original and properly cite the works of others.
- Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All authors must review and approve the final version of the manuscript.
- Ethical Oversight: Research must comply with ethical standards regarding human and animal subjects, including obtaining necessary approvals and informed consent.
- Declaration: Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and sign the required Publication Declaration Form upon submission.
Duties of Editors
- Publication Decisions: Editorial decisions must be based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope.
- Fair Play: Editors must evaluate manuscripts without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
- Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and other editorial advisers.
- Conflict Handling: Editors must recuse themselves from the editorial process if they have a conflict of interest with the authors or the research presented.
Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as strictly confidential documents and must not share them with unauthorized individuals.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing clear, reasoned, and constructive feedback to help improve the manuscript.
- Source Acknowledgement: Reviewers must alert the editors to any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge. Suspected plagiarism must be reported immediately.
- Promptness: Reviewers must complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe or notify the editor immediately if an extension is needed.
Publisher Responsibilities
The Publisher of Language and Diaspora Transmission (LDT) ensures editorial independence, rigorous ethical oversight, and the long-term digital preservation of all published content. The publisher supports the editors in making fair and objective editorial decisions and provides a platform for resolving any ethical disputes.
Research Misconduct
LDT proactively identifies potential misconduct (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, and inappropriate authorship) via similarity checking tools (e.g., Turnitin) and rigorous editorial screening. All allegations are handled objectively following COPE guidelines, which may lead to manuscript rejection, retractions, or notification of the authors' institutions.
Licensing and Copyright
Authors retain the copyright of their work under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This permits unrestricted use, redistribution, and adaptation in any medium, provided that the original authors and the source receive proper attribution.
Concerns and Corrections
Concerns regarding errors, ethical issues, or suspected misconduct should be reported directly to the Editorial Office. LDT is fully committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record through timely corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions where necessary.
